Since Daniel Craig recently confirmed he’s agreed to return as James Bond for his fifth appearance in the franchise, rumors have been popping up for the planned plot, one of which would see 007 married.
Inside sources tell Page Six, the film will center around Bond settling down with his wife and quitting the service, only to get pulled back into action after his wife is killed.
In ‘Spectre’, the franchise’s last installment, we last saw Bond rescuing his love interest Dr. Madeleine Swann played by Léa Seydoux, so it’s assumed they will be together – albeit briefly.
The source described the film, “like ‘Taken’ with Bond”, with the legendary spy trying to avenge his wife’s murder.
This isn’t the first time James Bond has been married. During George Lazenby’s lone performance as James Bond in 1969’s ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’, Bond marries Tracy Draco, only to have her murdered by frequent villain, Ernst Stavro Blofeld at the end of the film. And yes, the reason Tracy Draco looks familiar is because she was played by Diana Rigg, who also plays the unforgettable Olenna Tyrell in ‘Game of Thrones’.
These rumors aren’t confirmed yet so it could just be another red herring.
Bond 25 is scheduled to be released on November 8, 2019.
