Turn the lights out and turn the volume up for this one! Our first peek at mother! by from Darren Aronofsky is here. The trailer starts out with a standard J-Law premise of being in love, but quickly devolves into borderline horror. Random creepers show up at her door, a brick wall drips with blood, and at one point a horde of strangers approaches her home carrying torches.
We already know Javier Bardem can play a real creep, his work in No Country for Old Men comes to mind. Bardem’s character seems to have a part to play in the overall insanity that is shown here, but doesn’t look like the main antagonist. While I wasn’t a huge fan of The Fountain, and still have not seen Requiem for a Dream, I absolutely loved Black Swan, and this looks to be just as weird. Check out the premise and trailer below, and try to not get legit shook.
Bonus – the film’s director, Darren Aronofosky, dropped into Reddit to post the trailer himself today – which was neat!
